PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, local guidelines, and established policies and procedures to assure quality food service is provided.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Reviews menu prior to food preparation in order to estimate food requirements
Works with the facility's dietitian and other departments as necessary to coordinate food service and implement correct diets.
Prepares and serves meal in accordance with standardized recipes (portion control procedures) and special diet orders in a timely manner.
Assist in establishing food service production line
Dispose of food and waste in accordance with sanitary regulations
Maintain a clean work environment/report all hazardous conditions
Is responsible for all functions of the kitchen in the absence of the Food Service Director / Executive Chef. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident / patient care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Patients & Resident rights.
Performs other work related duties as requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years food experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred or chef in a restaurant.
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet all other Physical and Sensory requirements of the job.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
