Summary:
The Information Technology Department of the Marine Biological Laboratory is seeking candidates for a temporary position supporting the computer needs of our users. This position is for up to six months, from mid-April through mid-October.This is a full-time entry level job with some flexibility in hours in the Spring and Fall.The primary focus for this position is supporting the computer technology needs of our world-renowned courses.This is a great opportunity to advance your computer skills and get hands on experience in an exciting and dynamic environment in Woods Hole, MA.MAJOR DUTIES:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
provide technical assistance to MBL community members, including courses, researchers and staff, with their computer needs; receive and provision new and rental computers; install and configure operating systems and applications on computers; assist end-users connecting to the MBL wired and wireless networks; track computer equipment assets; troubleshoot problems with computer hardware and software; organize the delivery and return of rental equipment and verify billing.SKILLS REQUIRED:
Candidate should have working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems, MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic computer repair skills, hardware knowledge and troubleshooting are desirable. Training will be provided.Knowledge of computer networking and wiring is desired. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are required.EDUCATION/
Experience:
An overall interest in computers and technology required.High school diploma and some college education is preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
