The position assists the Port Engineer, Facilities Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor with the day-to-day Engineering Department operation and maintenance activities of the Authority.
Utilizes Maximo assisting in planning, scheduling, inventory control, equipment documentation and file management, training, procurement and efficient maintenance of the Authority's assets.
Monitors the day to day Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities of the Authority.
With the assistance of the Port Engineer, Facilities Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor, coordinates maintenance scheduling, manpower planning and schedule adherence to ensure safe and efficient maintenance practices.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Engine Department Performance:
Using Maximo, assists with the development and monitoring of department Key Performance Indicators.
Maintenance Monitoring, Scheduling, Planning and Inventory Control:
Utilizing the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to develop operating, monitoring, scheduling, planning and inventory control standards as a means of measuring and improving maintenance and operational performance.
Monitors, evaluates and trains Sr.
Chief Engineers and Sr.
Captains in their performance in the use of Maximo.
Manpower Planning and Control:
Utilizing the Maximo CMMS to develop and implement procedures to assist Managers with the planning, monitoring and tracking of manpower resources.
Training/Safety:
With the assistance of the Engineering and Maintenance Department's Administrative Assistant, train vessel, terminal and maintenance staff in the use of Maximo CMMS program.
Coordinates with the HR department to ensure safety issues are documented and remedied in a timely manner utilizing Maximo.
Duty/Schedule:
Assigned to the Woods Hole Engineering and Maintenance office.
The position shall be available to respond to emergency calls after hours and weekends.
Perform the duties of Port Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
Required Knowledge:
The preferred applicant shall have 2 to 5 years of experience, possess a bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent, be highly computer literate, familiar with CMMS programs and have previous experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
